Paris, TN is a beautiful city with over a dozen parks and recreational programs. It is a great place to spend time outdoors, but we all need a vacation occasionally. If you want to enjoy a weekend away without going too far, read on to discover our favorite camping spots within driving distance of Paris.

3 Favorite Camping Spots in Driving Distance of Paris, TN

1. Hidden Creek Resort

Our favorite place to camp in the area is Hidden Creek Resort at 2576 W Antioch Rd. This large campground has over 100 campsites, and the owner is warm, welcoming, and accommodating. One thing we love about this campground is that there is a pool and shower house. We also love the convenient store. If you forget to pack something, you won’t need to interrupt your vacation to find a pharmacy or grocery store.

2. Paris Landing State Park

You also can’t go wrong spending the night at Paris Landing State Park at 16055 Highway 79 N. In this state park, you can camp or spend the night in a cabin facing Kentucky Lake. This park features 18 primitive campsites nestled in a picturesque hardwood forest, and there are dozens of campsites with such amenities as water and electric hookups. Other amenities you can access from the main campground include:

  • Bathhouses
  • Laundry room
  • Camp store
  • Dump station

If your kids have never camped before, you may want to reserve a cabin at Paris Landing State Park. This park features 10 three-bedroom cabins with two bathrooms and a beautiful view of Kentucky Lake. These cabins can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably. There are also six smaller cabins that offer more of a minimalist summer camp feel.

3. Bone’s Canoe & Campground

We also love spending a night at Bone’s Canoe & Campground at 16520 Bakerville Rd. There are no reservations at this campground; if you want to spend the night next to the beautiful Buffalo River, it is advisable to get to the campground at 8 AM and pick your campsite. If you just want to camp in the area, you can arrive later, and you can camp on the top of the hill.

Be advised, you must pay $5 per person nightly to camp here, and you must be quiet after 10 PM. Also, you may not bring untreated firewood from out of town.

There are many great places to camp near Paris, but you need a reliable car to get you there. If you have an old car that is prone to breaking down, a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee may be better for your family. To take it for a test drive, visit us at Peppers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram today.
