The Wrangler is the original SUV, and it was practically made for the great outdoors. Its military heritage is still obvious in its design, but that doesn’t mean the 2024 Jeep Wrangler hasn’t kept up with modern times. Even the lowest trim level has the advanced technology you want, including features created specifically for outdoor exploration. Frequent campers, off-road warriors, and more will find today’s Wrangler is exactly the ride they need.

Embrace the Outdoors: The 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Design

The 2024 Wrangler’s timeless design is actually one of the most customizable on the market, able to fit any number of specific needs, so there’s something for everyone. However, off-road enthusiasts on a budget need look no further than the base-level Sport trim. There’s still a choice of two doors or four, but there’s no better feeling than being out on the road or the trail with the Wrangler’s roof and doors removed.

What’s fascinating, though, is what Jeep has chosen to make standard on a trim that is otherwise very basic. A compass makes sense, of course, but the illuminated front and rear beverage holders are a welcome convenience. Other features seem designed to make long road trips easier. There’s cruise control to avoid fatigue, and the driver’s seat has manual lumbar control in addition to six-way directional control. Even the front passenger has manual four-way directional control.

Performance

The 2024 Wrangler is at its best when going off-road, so it can take you almost anywhere you choose. The entire line is four-wheel drive, and the standard configuration in the lowest Sport trim is a manual six-speed 2.6-liter V-6 engine with stop/start. The engine can turn off when you come to a full stop and turn back on when you’re ready to roll again. This feature can easily be disabled when you don’t want to use it.

Technology

The 2024 Wrangler has a brand new 12.3-inch display for its infotainment system, and it’s standard on all models. Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM with 360L AM/FM/Satellite are all included. The system’s interface is Uconnect 5. It’s very responsive and user-friendly, with voice-activated audio controls. There are eight speakers, steering wheel audio controls, and speed-sensitive volume.

To top it all off, the onboard navigation system has a feature you won’t find on many vehicles. There is mapping for more than 2,000 trails, and more can be downloaded if you want them. As is often the case, it’s very likely that the Wrangler will be able to maneuver on many trails where larger SUVs won’t fit.
